HMSA provides Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Work/Life and Wellness services to contracted company employees. HMSA is currently contracted with over 2000 companies nationwide. This position will be working with EAP clients over the phone and in person. This position is a hybrid position working at our office in Detroit, MI located across the street from Cobo Hall with a parking garage connected to our building on Wednesday’s.
REQUIRED
MUST HAVE LLBSW
Bachelor’s degree or above in social work, counseling, psychology, or other human services related discipline. Experience in EAP, short-term problem resolution and level of care determination.
Appropriate state licensure for discipline LLBSW or LBSW
Ability to interface professionally with a diverse clientele, management, and union population, community resources and other professional entities Healthcare and/or Insurance background
Ability to coordinate with Managed Care
Organizations and complete clinical documentation accurately and timely.
PREFERRED
Background in Mental Health, Substance Abuse/Addiction and Autism
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
1. Interface and collaborate with other professionals and Managed Care Organizations, timely completion of appropriate case management forms.
2. Facilitate appropriate and necessary referrals to treatment facilities and community
resources based on Level of Care Criteria to assist with problem resolution in the quickest,
least restrictive, most convenient, and least costly manner possible.
3. Refer and Redirect clients to In-network facilities.
4. Provide follow-up services for all referrals at scheduled intervals. Follow-up with
treatment facilities to ensure following of treatment plan and aftercare/ discharge plan.
5. Follow-up with client Representatives on cases involving referrals from client Rep
6. Ensure timely and accurate submission of required data.
7. Maintain case records to assure that all documentation is available, accurate and in
compliance with occupational and mental health standards, and client data gathering
procedures. Complete managed care documentation as required by their organizational
standards.
8. Provide technical assistance and support to Case Managers, management,
supervisors, company EAP’s and other personnel through consultations and training.
Provide follow-up calls with management and/or referral sources.
9. Upload authorization data and submit ABA encounter forms to BCBS. Troubleshoot
nonpayment issues with treatment providers to ensure BCBS has all required authorization information.
10. Share in After-hour On-Call rotation with counselors.
11. Consistently use the Client Satisfaction Survey.
12. Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and other quality assurance activities of the program.
