The Department of Psychiatry is looking for a full time Associate Research Scientist to study novel interventions for the treatment of substance use disorders with a focus on clinical trials, medications development and interventional research.
Duties:
- The Associate Research Scientist will pursue independent grant funding through development and submission of NIH-funded research proposals.
- The Associate Research Scientist will work within the division on substance use disorders to support ongoing and planned research activities relevant to his/her career development goals.
- The Associate Research Scientist will conduct independent research, present findings at scientific conferences, and publish first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
PhD, MD, or equivalent degree in psychology or psychiatry.
The Research Scientist/Scholar position requires at least 3 years of post-doctoral research and experience working on clinical trials and supervising/training research assistants.
Preferred qualifications:
- NY-State Licensure to practice psychology or medicine
- Record of publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Record of ongoing presentation at scientific conferences
- Experience with submission of NIH grant proposals
- 1-2 years of teaching experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
