Controller
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Controller to join our team. As the Controller, you will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and monthly closing procedures. In this role, you will be responsible for providing vision, leadership and accountability to finance and administration teams in terms of harmonizing best practices, optimizing the control environment and improving process.
Responsibilities:
· Build, lead, motivate and develop a team of 2-4 direct reports to perform accounting, consolidation, reporting and analytical work
· Partner with the CFO to design and harmonize best practices, increase efficiency and implement a formal consolidation process for actual, budgeted and forecasted P&L, balance sheet and nonfinancial results to meet corporate accounting and reporting needs
· Perform monthly closing and account reconciliations including journal entry review, subledger reconciliations and oversight of the general ledger
· Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports; ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards
· Assist with preparation of financial statements and related disclosures for various SEC filings
· Manage cash flow and prepare weekly cash forecast to ensure adequate cash is available for use in operations
· Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of internal and external controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
· Assist with the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
· Liaise with external audits to provide requests, answer audit inquiries and ensure quality outcomes
· Manage accounts payable to ensure proper coding of invoices, timely payments and reasonable aging metrics
· Manage accounts receivables including collections, cash applications, related allowances and monitor aging
· Maintain all banking relationships and execute all ACH & wire payments
· Reviewing current processes, researching and implementing automation or improvement solutions in partnership with the staff
· Assist with special projects and ad hoc requests, as needed.
· Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications -
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
· 7+ years of experience working in accounting and/or finance with progressing responsibility
· Certified Public Accountant preferred
· Excellent management and supervisory skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organization and time management skills
· Excellent attention to detail
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
· Ability to work in fast paced and high demand working environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
