Director of Compliance and Legal
DSI, the parent company for Retail Data Systems, is searching for a resourceful and ambitious Officer of Compliance, Risk, and Safety to define and direct the path for successful compliance across DSI branch offices. Primary responsibilities will include helping DSI maintain compliance in several areas, including employment regulations, uniform job descriptions, job categorizations, branch office safety, and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate is a practical and proactive problem-solver who possesses strong business acumen.
Duties and responsibilities
- Leads the development of key compliance programs covering applicable laws, rules, and regulations; internal policies and procedures; accepted business practices and ethical standards with a focus on standardizing job categories and descriptions across all branch offices.
- Provides compliance oversight, including developing and maintaining effective controls designed to monitor the effectiveness of the compliance program.
- Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk across the company developing action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
- Work with the stakeholders to create appropriate policy and compliance messages to be used for distribution.
- Maintains a central repository of all HR documentation/policies for DSI
- Reports and presents compliance program status to management and the Board of Directors.
- Provides guidance to employees and managers on safety and compliance issues and concerns.
- As a subject matter expert develops and maintains effective compliance policies procedures and identify and mitigating compliance risks.
- Manages the monitoring of business activities for compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Tracks relevant laws and regulations and works with corporate and subsidiary staff to update operating manuals and procedural documents when regulations change.
- Prepares compliance status reports for internal management and regulatory agencies as required.
- Performs other related duties and ad hoc projects as required.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in business or related studies.
- CCEP or other compliance-related certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in compliance, regulatory, or auditing role preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience ensuring adherence to legal standards and in-house policies and enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business and guide on compliance matters preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, laws, and regulations preferred.
Physical Requirements

- Ability to use a computer with or without assistive devices
- Ability to communicate verbally in person, via computer, and over the phone
- Ability to travel to branch office sites when needed
