The position also includes engaging in scholarly products and participating in the education mission by supervising and training medical students, residents, clinical and research fellows, and other trainees. While the position is open to qualified persons early in their academic career, faculty with leadership or substantial clinical and/or relevant research experience will be considered for appointment as Medical Director of HIV Services and the Thomas Street Health Center in Harris Health System. Thomas Street Health Center is one of the largest clinics in the US devoted to the care of adults with HIV and is a recipient of Ryan White Care Act funding. This is an outstanding opportunity to provide clinical care for an underserved population, develop a research portfolio focused on clinical HIV research, and educate the next generation of providers in HIV care. The leadership position represents an outstanding opportunity to direct a large and influential clinic in an area of focus for ending the HIV Epidemic efforts. The position is open to all faculty ranks; incoming academic rank will be based on previous academic and clinical experience.
