The Electrical Designer will support the electrical design team by applying technical knowledge in preparation of complete design packages for construction to be used for construction.
Responsibilities:

Create electrical installation details, one-line diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, area classification, grounding, etc.

Size and specify electrical equipment including raceways, fittings, panels, conductors, terminations, etc.

Walk down a site, collecting all necessary information to perform design work.

Collaborate with a design team of engineers, designers, and drafters to produce a complete drawing installation package.

Occasionally support factory/site acceptance testing.

Occasional field support of commissioning and/or troubleshooting electrical equipment.

Interpret and apply NEC and other electrical-related codes and standards.

Utilize 2D or 3D computer aided design software, such as AutoCad, to create electrical design drawings.
Education/Experience:

5+ years of progressive experience as an Electrical Designer.

Practical field experience with the installation, evaluation, testing, and commissioning of various medium- and low-voltage electrical equipment is a plus.

Electrical technician experience (manufacturer, in plant or contractor) is a plus.
