Job: Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager

Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement HSE Policies:
- Design, implement, and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigating risks to the health and safety of employees and the environment.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, including those specific to the state of Tennessee.
- Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to employees at all levels, fostering a culture of safety consciousness and responsibility.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Lead and participate in the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure the availability of necessary resources to effectively respond to emergencies.
- Audit and Inspection:
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. Implement corrective actions as needed.
- Waste Management:
- Oversee waste management programs, ensuring proper disposal, recycling, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, government agencies, and community organizations to promote environmental sustainability and positive relationships.
- Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to HSE activities, including incident reports, training records, and permits.
- Prepare reports on safety performance, including metrics and trends
- Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, with a focus on manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of TOSHA regulations and requirements
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EPA guidelines
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful EHS programs.
- Experience in managing incident investigations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively train employees and write comprehensive reports
