Ascension Recovery Services (Ascension RS) is considered an industry leader in developing and managing comprehensive, fully integrated behavioral health systems, treating SUD and co-occurring mental illness across the full continuum of care. Our experience in the development of treatment facilities encompasses the entire continuum of care, including detoxification and residential treatment facilities, outpatient programming, sober living homes/recovery residences, peer support services, and job training / workforce reintegration. Additionally, Ascension RS (branded as Wise Path Recovery Centers) owns and operates an intensive outpatient program offering intensive outpatient programming (IOP), partial hospitalization programming (PHP) and MAT services, and two residential treatment centers; with our third residential center to open summer/fall 2024.
We're searching for a Director of Operations who is a visionary leader and shares our commitment to improving access to substance use disorder and all behavioral health services and embodies our core values: kindness, excellence, empathy, teamwork & integrity.
We are specifically looking for an individual with proven experience designing and building extraordinary in-patient and out-patient substance use disorder programs from the ground up! Experience in consulting or high-growth startups a plus!

Accountabilities
Operations/Facility Development:
- Supports the company growth initiatives by acting as the subject matter expert on client engagements in the areas of Operations, Compliance, Policy & Procedure, Licensing and Program Development.
- Develops and executes operational strategy based on client needs
- Project manages large scale initiatives to ensure high quality, timely completion of services
- On-site lead for the opening of all new facilities
- Designs operational goals and metrics for SUD/Behavioral Health facilities that align with the goals and milestones and provides oversight and active monitoring to ensure they are achieved.
- Identifies and prioritizes operational objectives and potential risks and provides leadership and guidance to the team leads to implement, track and measure success and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with clients to assess needs, design treatment programs, and create facility plans
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to substance use disorder treatment centers
- Develop policies and procedures for facility operations, including admissions, detox, counseling, and discharge processes.
Growth Initiatives:
- Partners closely with the Consulting team leadership to identify, secure and execute strategic partnerships/MSA’s.
Financial Accountability:
- Manages the quarterly and annual budgeting process and P&L responsibilities.
- Works closely with the finance team to develop proformas, budgets and other financial documents.
- Monitors facility performance and develops and executes strategies to meet financial objectives
Internal Relationships:
- Partners with leaders across the organization, to take advantage of the company's core competencies, and to recognize when strategies under consideration do not align with those competencies and therefore represent undue risk.
Reporting:
- Provides timely status on programs, opportunities, and other growth initiatives.
- Creates project reporting (e.g., status updates, reviews) and deliver presentations indicating progress report; monitor and report progress against milestones, providing quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Leadership:
- Coaches team members on achieving goals and developing necessary skills that get results; develop team members performance, provide feedback and demonstrate the desired skills and expected work ethic.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, master’s in health administration, business administration, or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing multi-site (multi-state preferred) operations; in the behavioral health or other relevant healthcare field. Experience with de Novo’s strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years of people and team management experience with a proven track record of growing and developing high-functioning teams.
- Seasoned leader comfortable leading through change and ambiguity with the ability to connect dots across complex and ever-changing processes and systems.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to execute, including how to sequence events and milestones, plan resources, execute against tight timelines and measure progress and success.
- High emotional intelligence who can interface and extend leadership cross-functionally and externally.
- Experience growing and scaling an innovative service-oriented business model.
- Strong knowledge of fiscal management and responsibility, business finance, capital funding, contracts, partnerships, and corporate governance
- Travel up to 50% based on location
