The SMT Technician 2 is responsible for the set-up and operation of SMT equipment in support of high reliability electronic manufacturing activities. Responsibilities include programming, profiling, debugging, and validation of manufactured printed circuit card assemblies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned as required.
· Responsible for set-up and programming of pick-and-place machines, screen printers, and reflow ovens in support of the SMT process.
· Monitor SMT machines during production and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
· Visually inspect assembly for obvious damage, non-conformance, cleanliness, component mounting and installation, and soldering quality.
· Complete data recording/reporting activities for manufacturing control processes.
· Ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
· Perform scheduled maintenance on SMT machines to ensure optimal performance.
· Communicates and coordinates as necessary with other Teams (Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, etc.)
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 2-4 years of relevant SMT manufacturing experience.
· Strong knowledge of SMT equipment, manufacturing processes, procedures, and quality requirements.
· Working knowledge of IPC-610-A and J-STD-001 standards. Certification desired or the ability to obtain certifications as required.
· Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members and management.
· Ability to prioritize daily work to meet production schedules and planning, with minimal supervision.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Must be a US Citizen

- Previous experience in a similar role with a strong mechanical knowledge
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Familiarity with reading schematics, and PCB layouts
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
