Position Summary: Under directsupervision, incumbent performs beginning to mid-level data analytics work ofaverage difficulty in the office following industry and Zoo’s recommendedmethods and procedures. Incumbent toapply learned skills and descriptive, predictive and presumptive analytics toZoo’s assets, including but not limited to, its website, social media platformsand discrete divisional databases and to create or assist to create and postcontent in traditional and social media platforms to drive engagement toheighten the Zoo’s visibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIESinclude, but are not limited to the following. The following is not intended to be an exhaustive list. Other duties may be assigned or required.
1. Interfaceswith the public through digital media, blogs and creates or assists to createand post content that promotes the Zoo’s programs, activities, events andadvance the Zoo’s Mission and to drive engagement to generate interest,increase “eyeballs” and ultimately attendance;
2. Reviewsand understands the Zoo’s assets (as mentioned in Position Summary) usingindustry established standards, organizes information and prepares or assistsin preparing customized outputs into charts, maps, presentations, digitalmessaging or marketing/educational campaigns;
3. Worksindependently to monitor or assists in monitoring the Zoo’s digital assets andwhere necessary, responds to inquiries with an emphasis on promotingconservation efforts;
4. Coordinatescross-divisional efforts and scripts or helps to script promotional materialsto educate the public by posting materials in multiple platforms to supportevents, programs, activities, etc.;
5. AssistsMarketing, Development and Education Divisions on event build-up, includinge-mail notifications, writing and editing e-newsletters, where appropriate, totarget audiences to enhance the visibility of and revenues for these programs;
6. AssistsGuest Services Department to evaluate and research attendance trends and helpdraft marketing messages in digital space such as the Zoo’s main website andtrack impact and feedback of efforts;
7. Assistsin market research to better understand the changing demographics in SanFrancisco and the greater Bay Area; prepares or assists in preparing marketingreports and presentations; and understands basic marketing survey techniquesand interprets results for staff, potential sponsors, donors, boards and committeesand other external stakeholders;
8. Maybe asked to assist with the digital ticketing system and evaluate itseffectiveness on enhanced guest experience on Zoo grounds;
9. Maintainsand organizes records, files, internal/external communications, research &promotional materials;
10.Performsother duties as assigned or required

EDUCATION: Education: a B.A. inMarketing, Data Science, Public Relations, Psychology, Behavioral Economics or arelated field.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2-years of verifiableexperience. Raisor’s Edge experience a must. Proven knowledge in Data Scienceor Data Analytics. Excellent writing skills for diverse audiences from a varietyof cultural socio-economic backgrounds. Excellent presentation and speakingskills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work bothindependently and as part of a team and to build and maintain internal andexternal partnerships.
