Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the development of components in a sub-system dictated by the R&D lead as well as performing work and leading technical support staff for completing projects or tasks requested from the R&D module lead, industrial design, and manufacturing team.
Responsibilities-
- Design, develop, and document plastic, die-cast, sheet metal, and machine components and assemblies utilizing Creo Parametric 3D CAD software.
- Create and manage products or sub-system top-down skeleton level architecture to ensure module interfaces and master model is in alignment with the Alcon development process.
- Generating detailed fabrication drawings utilizing GD&T and mechanical tolerance analysis.
- Recommends fabrication and additive manufacturing processes to meet R&D needs, specifically plastic, die casting, sheet metal, and machine component design.
- Perform fitment and DFM/A checks Ensures the integrity and quality of the Group’s output by establishing, maintaining, and enforcing Alcon standards, processes & procedures.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement in group procedures, and leads initiatives aimed at continual improvement in efficiency & effectiveness of the group
Minimum requirements-
- BS/MS in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing/ Engineering curriculum with applicable industry experience.
- Working and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced R&D environment preferably in the medical device space is a plus.
