The Service Specialist, Building Automation, under general supervision, will be responsible for providing customer and technical support for installed systems that may be moderately complex. They will service and support existing customers by responding to service calls, carrying out service contract responsibilities and small projects business. The scope of work includes technical assistance, systems checkout of new and existing installations, troubleshooting and maintenance and repair routines associated with installed DDC building automation systems and the installation of small or less complex projects
Duties:
- Responds to a variety of customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and afterhours calls on a timely basis; will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug a variety of systems for more complicated problems; installs small projects as necessary.
- Identifies and resolves problems for most types of service calls.
- Completes accurate and detailed service reports for customer in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
- May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, system audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation.
- Uses well-developed troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
- Provides technical support to end users and team members when applicable.
- Communicates with and works with the other members of the team consistently to improve overall operations of the Service Department and company.
Experience in Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Thorough understanding of commercial HVAC mechanical, refrigeration and building systems
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
- Programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
- Experience in the construction environment preferred
- Associate degree in Electronics preferred
