Purpose
NEP Group's Project Manager role is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling project activities required for effective management of media, broadcast and infrastructure installation projects. They're responsible for supervising installation labor and sub-contractors, estimating and pricing job changes. The role will work with financial, contract management and other management reports and tools to define project status and assure project profitability. Also, responsible for training and developing employees and the overall quality of the installation.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Plans and schedules engineering, installation, and subcontracting activities on large and/or complex systems, or service installed projects.
- Maintains current job plans and specifications
- Works with engineering department on design and drafting phases of jobs
- Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies and services and controls timely delivery to job site.
- Prepares the project installation plan, manages the plan and prepares and implements job procedures.
- Determines, from review of various information, necessary changes in design, contract price, installation plan or other activity and implements same.
- Maintains construction schedule and coordinates task scheduling with other trades.
- Selects and monitors the performance of subcontractors
- May estimate or assist in estimating projects which the company is bidding
- Implements quality assurance program to continuously improve customer satisfaction
- Monitors financial and other reports and works with other management tools to define project problems
- Ensures timecards are accurately filled out, complete with job numbers, phase codes, times adds up, hours are correct, timecard is signed and turned in every Monday on to the Operations AA. Responsible to make sure cards from the field have arrived at Company.
- Creates (Risk Assessment Plan), implements and insures a appropriate safety plan is in place on all active job sites. Insures and inspects work and work in progress for safety violations or unsafe practices.
Position Requirements
- 7-10 years’ experience coordinating various project of size and scope in a construction or integration related business
- Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals
- Ability to organize and manage sub-contractors
- Understands and can complete job financial reports
- The ability to control costs in the management of large projects
- Highly skilled in Microsoft productivity tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Project
- Travel as required 25%-30% with some short term and extended travel
- Significant hands-on site-based cable plant and/or broadcast experience, Specialty electronic systems and Audio / Video experience helpful
