POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Commercial Project Manager, Fleet Electrification, you will play a dual role in driving the adoption of electric school buses and managing the grant application process.
This multifaceted position requires a combination of project management, relationship building, industry knowledge and grant management skills to facilitate the successful execution of Beacon’s electrification strategy.
Commercial Responsibilities:
· Lead the effort to bring electric vehicles to our customers through educating and partnering with them to make electric vehicle deployments feasible
· Conduct market research to identify potential customers interested in adopting electric buses, focusing on school districts, transportation authorities, and relevant stakeholders
· Collaborate with internal teams to customize solutions, prepare proposals, and address technical and operational concerns of existing and potential customers
· Manage contract negotiations and facilitate the successful execution of agreements
· Develop and implement effective strategies to promote the benefits of electric school buses and secure new funding opportunities
Grant Management:
· Work with external providers and help prepare and submit grant applications, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines
· Oversee grant compliance for active projects
· Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information for grant applications, including technical specifications, project timelines, and budget details
· Monitor the progress of grant applications and provide updates to stakeholders
· Stay abreast of federal, state, and local grant opportunities related to fleet electrification
Project Management:
· Work closely with many of Beacon’s functional teams (including sales, marketing, engineering, and finance) and external entities to ensure a coordinated and cohesive approach to electrification projects from funding to execution
· Develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan to keep all internal and external stakeholders informed of the project status, issues and resolution plan
· Identify key messages and ensure consistent communication across all departments and furnish a method for keeping project members and leaders accountable
Relationship Building:
· Create and enable buy-in from stakeholders through constant communication and transparency
· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders in the education and transportation sectors inside and outside of Beacon
· Act as a liaison between customers, external providers and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication and understanding of project requirements
Technical Knowledge:
· Develop and maintain a deep understanding of electric vehicle technology, charging infrastructure, and related products and services
· Effectively communicate technical information to customers, addressing their concerns and ensuring a clear understanding of the benefits of electrification
Advocacy and Outreach:
· Support industry events, conferences, and workshops to promote electric fleet adoption and grant opportunities
· Collaborate with industry associations and advocacy groups to further support the growth of electrified transportation
REPORTING STRUCTURE
· Report to VP of Corp Development and Strategy
SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Ability to competently and confidently interact with outside stakeholders including fleet operators, school districts, school bus operators, consultants, charging station hosts and utilities
· Basic understanding of clean transportation, zero-emission and electric vehicles (EV) and EV charging
· Familiarity with government incentives and regulations related to electric school bus adoption is a plus
· Strong project management skills and the ability to successfully multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to manage scope, schedule and budget of project agreements and other program support agreements
· Ability to facilitate and execute continuous improvement of programs and business processes
· Outstanding external and customer communications (written and verbal) skills
· Must be a self-starter and function well independently and in teams
· Ability to synthesize information, including stakeholder feedback, policy documents, etc.
· Strong business acumen with ability to think strategically about various issues and develop consensus to push along the project
· “Do whatever it takes” mindset with high sense of urgency and commitment to the business
· Effective time management and organizational skills
PRIOR EXPERIENCE
· Two to four years of experience in project management, project coordination, and/or project management support, or similar roles
· Undergraduate degree, preferably in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field
· Experience in the transportation or logistics industries preferred
JOB LOCATION
· Remote, but must be in Eastern or Central time zone; close proximity to a major airport suggested
· Domestic travel as required (up to 50%)

COMPENSATION:
$125,000 per year
