The Accounting Manager at Operio oversees and manages the staff accounting team, reporting to the Corporate Controller. They are compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
They are responsible for the correct function of their department and their daily operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, frequent reports, annual budget proposals, and month and year-end closes. The Accounting Manager will coordinate and complete annual audits, establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles, and meet the financial accounting objectives.
This is a full-time position based in the Operio Headquarters (Fort Worth, TX).
Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for the development, improvement, maintenance, and documentation of full-cycle accounting processes.
- Supervise, track, and evaluate day-to-day accounting operations.
- Maintain the general ledger system, and prepare and review ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Manage Month-End close timeline and checklist, and prepare monthly financial statements.
- Provide accurate financial data and recommendations to management.
- Establish and maintain financial files and records documenting all transactions.
- Prepare revenue and expenditure analysis.
- Assist in the completion of regular and annual audits.
- Assign projects, KPIs, and goals to the team and ensure compliance and accuracy of projects.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods and policies.
- Improve systems and procedures as necessary. Initiate corrective actions if needed.
- Make sure financial information is internally consistent (statements to KPIs, exec summaries and charts graphs, footnotes).
- Approve & submit payroll.
- P&L Analysis.
- Cash flow forecast update.
- Resolution of collections.
- Responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and submitting 1099s on an annual basis.
- Chart of accounts review.
- Prepare and submit sales tax returns with controller approval.
- Reclassification of contributions/distributions on the balance sheet and income statement to retained earnings.
- Preparation and submission of personal property tax reviewed by the controller
- 941 reconciliations.
- Manage, coach and train staff accountants in their team following the Operio management processes, such as 6 Month Reviews, Team Meetings, and weekly or monthly One to Ones.
Job Requirements:

BS in Accounting, Finance or related field or proven work experience as an Accounting Manager for 5+ years
- Advanced computer and software skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong accounting and finance knowledge, problem-solving skills.
- Experience mentoring, directing and managing staff.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced atmosphere.
Pay: $95,000 - 115,000 based on education, experience, and skills.
