PURPOSE AND KEY RESULTS OF THE POSITION
Under the direction of the VP of Sales and Marketing, the Sales Manager is responsible for being a product expert, promoting and selling Tuff Boy products and services within their assigned territory. They will spend approximately half of their time in the field with customers and potential customers, and approximately half of their time at the primary sales office. As a result of his/her efforts, Tuff Boy will grow its lease and sales revenues with new and current clients, and establish the brand as a successful product line within the industry.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish relationships and maintain appropriate communication with customers, servicing their needs and uncovering unmet needs.
- Complete customer qualifications and process sales contracts.
- Educate customers on proper use and maintenance of products.
- Effectively schedule customer visits in advance and complete call plans for each. Submit call plan calendar to the Vice President of sales.
- Utilize company phones and equipment to effectively correspond with Tuff Boy Customers.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and facilitate resolution of defects.
- Conduct returning product inspections, photograph and complete damage reports and schedule repairs with the service department.
- Identify and develop new opportunities within assigned territories.
- During customer visits inspect Trailers and other Equipment on “satellite programs”. Monitor use of trailers on satellites to ensure use compliance according to rental contracts.
- Work with management to monitor progress, adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales goals.
- Conduct product demonstrations, including attendance at Trade Shows.
- Assist the Vice President with the development of the sales strategy and sales forecasting.
- Assist the sales department with market research, including changes in the industry, the competitive environment and opportunities to grow the business.
- Contribute innovation ideas to product development.
- Serve as After-Hours primary point of contact for activity at the Yosemite yard.
- Effectively use the CRM, consistently tracking sales-related activities in the system. Input customer notes and upload all documents related to conducting normal business transactions.
- Comply with all with all company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
- Self-motivated / self-starter / “Hunter”.
- Outgoing, poised, and persuasive communicator.
- Ability to manage schedule and tasks with little supervision.
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well with support teams.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales and market trends.
- Willingness to travel 50%, locally, domestically.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM and MRP systems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of outside sales experience
- Heavy equipment or Agriculture industries experience a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position will spend some time in a home or regional office but will also spend some time in the field. This includes being exposed to outdoors, other office settings, dirt, noise, uneven surfaces and excessive heat or cold.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
