Role Summary/Purpose
The Manufacturing Test Technician will work closely with Manufacturing Test Engineers to support daily production and improve manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting equipment and processes, defining equipment maintenance, and updating process documentation. Project support through building or procuring equipment and developing processes. Projects can extend across the Austin campus. In this role, you will use your technical abilities to meet objectives, and resolve issues through action or short-term planning.
Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve production processes
Assist with continuous improvement projects (e.g., kaizen events, 5S, value stream mapping)
Assist the Manufacturing Engineers with standard work and line balancing for process improvements
Identify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to minimize down time.
Develop, assemble, procure or modify existing and new tooling, fixtures, and equipment to ensure efficient production methods.
Conduct time studies and identify areas for process improvements.
Assist with New Product/Process Introduction methodologies. This can include reading schematics, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
Review engineering documentation and submit change orders for corrective action and deviations when needed.
Assist in failure analysis to determine root cause.
Perform tests, gather data, and write results/reports with assistance from Manufacturing Engineering.
Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Participate in EHS related actions to improve safety across the entire campus.
Perform Preventive maintenance activities and help to improve the PM’s checklist to improve the test stations uptime.
Qualifications/Requirements
Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years of experience in Testing Engineering functions or work assignments
Desired Characteristics

Ability to read prints and schematics
Background in manufacturing, assembly, and troubleshooting
Working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong problem solving, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions
Experience in a regulated environment, such as ISO, UL
Ability to use and understand general manufacturing equipment.
Experience with Oracle
