LOCATION:

- Hybrid - 4 days on-site / 1 day remote
MISSION:
The primary tasks involve creating engineering definitions and technical drawings for mechanical system components and assemblies. The mechanical designer’s responsibilities include working on drawings from inception to completion and collaborating with relevant stakeholders during the process. The Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop 3D models, familiar with systems schematics, and create engineering definitions for detail parts, assemblies, and installations.
- Establish design tolerances for the production of system components and assemblies.
- Participate in the review, approval, and release process of engineering definition.
- Support the creation and review of engineering definitions to ensure compliance with design requirements and company processes.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with 5+ years of experience in design engineering. Or associate degree in mechanical design with 5+ years of experience.
- Knowledge of and experience with vehicle mechanical systems, machine design or structural design.
- Experience with CATIA V5/6 or similar CAD software is a must. Experience with CATIA 3DX and model-based definitions are strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of design using GD&T.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools (PLM) and configuration management.

- Highly dependable, strong work ethic, organized with excellent time management skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Minimum 8-15 years’ prior experience in structural analysis of aerospace structure
- Solid understanding of material properties & behavior, statics / free body diagrams, and structural load paths.
- Knowledge creating and questioning FEA models, including pre and post-processing of NASTRAN models and associated sizing of structure and system components
- Strong teamwork and coordination skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulic, fuel system, flight controls, landing gears, actuation systems or similar kinematics mechanism.
- Experience with prototype, development, experimental, and/or innovative products.
- Hands-on experience with equipment assembly, fabrication, and installation.
- Proactive/self-sufficient/able to work and add value with minimal oversight.
- Willingness to learn new things and continually improve capabilities/skills.

Pay: $85.00 - $90.00 per hour
