Position Summary: The Mammography Technologist is a Radiologic Technologist who performs Mammography procedures at a clinical and technical level not requiring constant supervision. The Mammography Technologist administers ionizing radiation to aid in the detection and diagnosis of breast disease through 2D/3D imaging exams. The Mammographer ensures a high level of quality and service is delivered to all organizational customers. When not performing mammography exams, the technologist will assist the practice manager with quality requirements and general administrative duties to complete patient care.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform Mammography Imaging and Quality Control
- Complete Patient Information Requirements and Paperwork
- Converse with Radiologist about Mammographic Exams
- Support Manager with MQSA and ACR Requirements
- Administrative Work to Complete Exams for Interpretation
Position Requirements:
- ARRT Registration R.T.(R) Required
- ARRT Certification in the Registration of Mammography (M) Required
- Minimum Two Years' Experience in a Mammography Position Preferred
- State Department of Radiation Control License as Required by Location of Practice
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly and take appropriate action as necessary.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with physicians, other facility staff, patients, and families when providing instructions, responding to questions, or exchanging patient-related information
- Analytic skills to conduct mammography exams and review images for accuracy and quality
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when conducting or assisting with mammographic procedures
- Complete necessary medical records information to include consents, billing charges, and prior imaging locations
- Meet continuing experience and CEUs required by MQSA
- Experience with MQSA inspections and requirements is preferred

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
