The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients undergoing interventional angiography procedures. With minimal supervision from attending physicians, this position involves direct patient care, basic monitoring, assistance during invasive radiographic procedures, and accurate documentation. As essential members of the Patient Care Team, these specialists collaborate to achieve identified patient outcomes, primarily serving adult through adult-geriatric populations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all Interventional Radiology procedures under the direction of a Radiologist.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment, providing patient instruction, and utilizing aseptic techniques.
- Assist interventional radiologists with procedural tasks, including equipment setup and operation.
- Practice established principles of radiation safety and protection.
- Document procedures accurately and comprehensively.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Registration from the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists.
- Licensure by the State of New Jersey DEP.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care.
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist required. Vascular/Interventional/Cath Lab/Scrub experience preferred.
Training and Licensure:
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.).
- Licensed by the State of New Jersey DEP.
- CPR certification required.
Pay: $42.00 - $52.00 per hour
