OBJECTIVE: St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children is seeking a Senior Individual Giving Manager to play a key role in a busy, fast-paced development office. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Senior Individual Giving Manager will play a critical role in the strategy, engagement, and long-term vision for St. Mary’s Center’s major gifts program. The manager is responsible for securing both annual and multi-year commitments from individual donors at the $10,000+ level as well as building a robust pipeline of mid-level donors at the $5,000+ level, supporting the organization’s $3M annual private revenue goal and preparing the agency for an increased annual fundraising goal as a result of the organization’s transformative $100M capital project and ambitious revenue growth over the next three years.
The Senior Individual Giving Manager will work collaboratively with all members of the Development team as well as Program leadership across the agency. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent relationship management, strong writing and communication skills, a successful track record in securing gifts at $10,000+ level and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
ESTABLISH AND GROW MAJOR GIFTS PROGRAM:
- Develop and implement overall strategies for engagement, solicitation, cultivation, stewardship, and follow up with the goal of increasing the number of gifts, donors, and revenue at the $10,000+ level.
- Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, acting as an externally facing fundraiser to take existing relationships to the next level through proactive outreach and face-to-face meetings and solicitations and strategically develop relationships with new prospects.
- Oversee internal donor tracking and moves management for portfolio in partnership with Development Coordinator and support Chief Development Officer with tracking outreach and efforts with all major gift prospects and donors in Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Secure at least 10 face-to-face donor/prospect visits a month (100-150 a year).
- Strategize and execute new cultivation events for major donors and prospects
SUPPORT ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EFFORTS:
- As a key member of the Development team, support all annual fundraising goals related to individual donors including:
- Partner with Sr. Communications Manager on Annual Appeals
- Serve as the lead for St. Mary’s Center’s key donor groups, the Women’s Partnership Program and Young Professionals Network
- Participate in on-site corporate volunteer engagements led by Director of Corporate Partnerships to engage with prospective individual donors (2-3/month avg.)
- Lead planning and execution of annual fundraising events in partnership with Chief Development Officer (detailed below)
- Attend external networking events on a monthly basis.
-Collaborate with St. Mary’s Center Program team members to gain a deep understanding of the mission and work of St. Mary’s Center and ensure fundraising efforts and messaging are aligned with the values and priorities of the agency.
- Support all Development team initiatives, including in-kind donation management support as needed.
FUNDRAISING EVENTS:
- In partnership with Chief Development Officer, serve as the lead for St. Mary’s Center’s two annual fundraising events with the goal of raising $500,000+ in revenue.
- Manage event committees and work in close partnership with Director of Corporate Partnerships on sponsorship solicitations.
- Establish and execute small-scale cultivation events focused on major donors.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree with 4-5 years of major gifts and fundraising experience or 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a successful major gifts and fundraising experience
- Highly collaborative, creative, motivated, and energetic individual with a successful track record of developing and executing meaningful major gifts strategies.
- Proven history of success in fundraising and partnership management for mission-focused organizations and/or non-profits.
- Committee management experience and the ability to maintain a high level of diplomacy and confidentiality
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- CRM platform experience required; Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
- Willingness to work select evenings as needed.
- Job may require travel to various sites.
