Mobile Calibration Technician - Nashville, TN
Electronic Metrology Laboratory (EML) has an immediate opening for a Mobile Calibration Technician. This position travels to customer sites throughout the U.S.A. to calibrate, test, and repair a variety of precision electronic and/or mechanical instrumentation for the client. Position requires the ability to be able to travel up to 70% of the time.
SUMMARY
The Mobile Calibration Technician travels as part of a two-person crew to customer locations all over the country in our mobile Calibration Lab, and provides a wide-range of calibration services on precision electronic and mechanical devices for clients. This position is based out of our Nashville, TN Lab, where some work will be performed, but will require long-haul travel of up to two weeks at a time, driving the dually truck that pulls the Lab trailer to customer sites.
Prior experience in Calibration is preferred, however training can be provided for candidates with a minimum of an Associate's Degree in a technical discipline, strong work ethic and professionalism, solid computer skills, and an electronic aptitude.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs calibrations, modifications and diagnosis on various types of test and measurement equipment.
· Travels to customer sites to perform field service on equipment as required by the company.
· Communicates with customers to determine their needs in such areas as alignments, technical assistance and any other areas of concern.
· Evaluates the results of tests and/or calibrations depending upon experience, training and expertise or with assistance from personnel.
· Assure compliance to ISO 9000 and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and the EML Quality System.
· Maintain an increased technical proficiency and effectiveness through on the job training and self-study.
· Monitor Lab Standards and Test Equipment to ensure each piece is within its calibration dates or is documented as needing calibration.
· Ensure customer-owned equipment is serviced and completed on-time with excellent customer service.
· Coordinate and communicate with customers on problems encountered during calibration.
· Ensure all paperwork submitted is timely and free- errors.
· Other duties as required by the company may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should have either prior experience in the Calibration Field or no less than a two-year Associate's Level Degree in a technical discipline, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and demonstrate initiative, integrity, and attention to detail. Must have a valid Driver's License with a Safe Driving Record, and the ability to pass a DOT Physical.
