Position: Industrial Electrician
Department: Maintenance
Shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm M/F, Weekends as Necessary
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems for safety and efficiency.
- Run conduits and pull cable.
- Must have working knowledge of electrical codes.
- Experience with 480 VAC 3 phase motor control systems.
- Experience with electrical voltages from zero to 600 volts.
- Assist in troubleshoot and repair of mechanical issues. Hydraulic knowledge a plus.
- Read schematics / diagrams to follow circuits and wiring.
- Thorough knowledge on how to use different hand and diagnostic tools for testing and fixing equipment.
- Familiarity with induction units a plus.
- Other duties as assigned, including occasionally assisting mechanical trades.
Essential Functions: Will be proficient at trouble shooting and using critical thinking skills to find root causes and to repair issues, both electrical and mechanical. Must be able to read blueprints and schematics, and to use a variety of tools and diagnostic devises to service and install electrical parts.
Education Requirements: High school diploma, with trade school experience preferred.
Experience Requirements: 5+ years experience in reading blueprints and schematics. Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical machine controls up to 600 volts. Installation and construction of new equipment.
Skill Requirements: Strong critical thinking skills; strong mechanical aptitude; must be able to read blueprints and schematics; ability to use a variety of tools / diagnostic devises to service and install electrical parts.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in tight spaces and elevated positions: twisting, turning, bending, and holding arms at / above the head are all common movements; able to lift up to 50#; must have color vision for working with colored wiring and identifying wiring by sight.

- Note: If an employee opts out of their medical coverage with Trenton Forging Company, the Company will pay the employee $70 weekly – totaling $3640 annually. Dental, Vision and Accident Insurance plans through Guardian are also available at negligible costs to the employee. If the employee selects one of the HSA medical plans above, they are automatically enrolled in a Health Savings Account (HSA). The Company makes $500 annual contributions for employees who choose single-person medical coverage and $1000 annual contributions for coverage of 2 or more persons.
- Life Insurance Our forging company automatically pays for a $15,000 life insurance policy for each employee. Additional life insurance may be purchased by the employee, up to $100,000 in employee coverage, $50,000 in spousal coverage, and $10,000 coverage per child.
- 401(k) On the first month after 60 days of employment, all employees are eligible to participate in our 401(k) plan with Merrill Lynch. In profitable years, the Company may match employee contributions with discretionary bonuses to all employees currently participating in our 401(k) plan.
