Summary: To ensure proper training and supervision of all Engineering personnel and to provide consistent, cost-effective maintenance programs that ensure the Hotels safe and efficient operation.
Essential Functions:

Coordinate and operate, in an economical, legal and safe manner, all H, L, P and R&M for the hotel.

Inspect physical plant and equipment, and shall supervise maintenance and preventative maintenance program of that area.

Coordinate with other departments all work necessary to maintain general conditions, safety and health standards set forth by hotel policy and legal requirements.

Have a thorough understanding of ZaZa Hotel rules and regulations.

Maintain all public areas and guestrooms on an on-going basis (corner guards, locks, windows, doors, furniture).

Maintain all electrical equipment throughout the property using the proper safety lock out/tag out procedures.

Maintain all the refrigeration equipment in the building.

Maintain all HVAC equipment in the building (guestrooms, public areas, function rooms)

Interview, hire, counsel, train, and discipline engineering associates.

Complete weekly schedules and requests. Complete staff payroll on a weekly basis.

Communicate with all department managers on continuing basis. Coordinate all work necessary to maintain general conditions, safety and health standards set forth by hotel policy and legal requirements.

Recommend to management possible projects for future capital budgets. Obtain bids, supervise and coordinate contractors in performance of project work.

Maintain own and hotel's special permits and licenses as required by local authorities.

Control schedules, staffing and payroll of H, L, P, R&M. Compile personnel records, logs utilities and keep engineering records.

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering

Master’s degree in engineering management or business administration preferred

5+ years of engineering experience, ideally in a management role

Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems

Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team

Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track

Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment

Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience

Ability to work individually or as part of a team
