The Compass Rose campus Business Clerk is a financial steward for their campus. You would manage the school budget, procurement, and school-based activity accounts. You will work under the direction and guidance of the Director of Operations to handle administrative duties for the business operation of a
campus. With the support of the network business office, you will serve 2 “schools” at separate campus sites.
Managing the Budget

Assist Principals and Director of Operations in monitoring school budgets

Fulfill internal requests for fund and budget balances

Fulfill internal requests for financial reports generated by accounting system

Ensure Principals and Directors of Operations are informed regarding the financial state of their school through consistent monthly check-ins and report-sharing
-
Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to track budget, ensure no needs for overages, and watch for areas of concern
Keeping Track of the Dollars

Enter and expense-code credit card receipts
-
Reconcile monthly credit card statements
-
Retrieve credit card receipts from cardholders
-
Ensure timely vendor payments
-
Prepare purchase orders
-
Receive and process purchase order deliveries
-
Submit invoices and check requests to network business office
-
Collect and count income from auxiliary programs, special events, and fundraising functions
-
Enter and revenue-code cash deposits
-
Deliver deposits to the bank
-
Maintain school fund accounts and student activity accounts
-
Assist school leaders in delivering training sessions to campus staff regarding financial policies and procedures
Purchasing the Stuff

Order, receive and maintain office/classroom supply inventory
-
Order and receive instructional materials and operational supplies
-
Make in-store and on-line purchases
-
Maintain operation of and supplies for office equipment
-
Assist with asset tracking
Serving as the On-Campus HR Office

Assist employees with accessing the employee portal

Assist hourly employees with timekeeping
-
Assist Facilities Manager with reviewing and approving timesheets
-
Retrieve service records for new employees
-
Update employee demographic information in HR system
Making the School Operate

Assist with student arrival and dismissal
-
Assist with student transportation
-
Participate in recruitment initiatives and events
-
Assist with student attendance
-
Monitor lunch and/or classes
-
Assist with student culture events
-
Provide coverage at the front desk or in the clinic
-
Provide technical support to students, parents, and staff

Answer parent questions
The Bigger Picture

Serve as a liaison between the campus and network business office
-
Communicate and follow financial policies and procedures
-
Retrieve, file, and submit documents for accounting, payroll, and human resources functions
-
An Associates degree (or higher) in accounting, business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
-
Knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
-
Ability to utilize databases and analyze data in Excel.
-
Ability to effectively communicate financial goals, recommendations and results.

Experience in bookkeeping and/or financial data entry preferred
-
Experience in providing administrative support and handling clerical responsibilities
-
Experience working in a school setting preferred
-
A love for details, processes, accuracy, tracking things down and reminding people to do things

Strong interest in being a part of preparing students for college and the world beyond

Year-round position with annual salary ranging from $37,000-$49,000 dependent upon experience (the equivalent of approximately $20-26/hour)
