Foodland, Hawaii’s largest locally owned grocery retailer, is looking for a Chef de Cuisine to join our team. We are seeking high energy, creative culinary professionals who are passionate about food and delivering exceptional experiences to all guests.
Chef de Cuisine must observe and enforce all company policies, house rules and guiding principles. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- scheduling, training, development and oversight of all culinary staff
- maintain product quality standards
- maintain expenses through planning and budgeting
- observe and enforce company standard operating procedures
- addressing culinary staff concerns and stressful situations with urgency, dignity & tact
- ensuring that all culinary staff personnel are courteous to customers
- Enhancing our food offerings through creative menu development and presentation
- Having extensive knowledge of cooking techniques & procedures
- ensuring all safety and sanitation guidelines are followed
The Chef de Cuisine must have the ability to work well and communicate well with others, receive and provide direction; maintain a positive attitude toward the work and company.
The Chef de Cuisine must also maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance, observe company dress code, and support the company culture, values, goals and mission.

Qualifications:
- High school education with some college background preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have prior managerial experience in a culinary position in a high-volume food service establishment.
- Knife and cooking skills required.
- Must have TB Clearance.
- Must comply with all company policies and requirements including COVID-19 related protocols such as daily wellness checks and wearing a face mask while at work
