Responsibilities
Data Review and Analysis:
· Review operational and financial data generated by separate applications to ensure accuracy and consistency in conjunction with ASC 606 re: Revenue Recognition.
· Analyze underlying processes and systems contributing to data discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
· Collect, document, map, and analyze business process and system dependencies.
· Assist management in data interpretation and identifying root causes of data anomalies and trends.
Process Improvement:
· Prepare reports and provide insight to management and leadership to enhance the decision-making process using evidence-based data to improve operational efficiency, productivity and accuracy.
· Develop and implement processes and controls to prevent future occurrences of discrepancies.
· Assist in the improvement and implementation of automation and tools designed to support work and decision-making as well as the related impacts to finance, IT and client services.
Collaboration and Coordination:
· Work closely with cross-functional teams including finance, client services, and IT to understand reporting requests and identify reporting requirements and make recommendations for process improvements to overcome constraints and resolve difficult operational and technological issues.
· Assist in maintaining and supporting software application systems used by the finance and business teams.
Compliance and Continuous Learning:
· Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to financial data management and reporting.
· Ensure proper data governance framework around critical data elements by following established procedural guidelines and best practices; serve as the subject matter expert on the reporting framework and design.
Qualifications include:
· Bachelors Degree required with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
· 3+ years experience in operational data and financial analysis and project management experience.
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial report standards (ASC 606) and internal controls.
· Proficiency in using analytical tools such as Excel and financial software.
· Experience with working with internally developed systems preferred.
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot anomalies in large datasets.
· Ability to understand data outputs from multiple systems and their dependencies from finance, IT and client client/customer perspectives.
