The Senior Director or Origination & Project Development will LEAD the acquisition of renewable projects within the United States The successful candidate will be pivotal in covering due diligence efforts during the pre-inteconnection , pre land acquisition phases and executing renewable energy projects that align with the company-wide strategy once they are deemed profitable.
Responsibilities
- Lead the due diligence process for project acquisitions, in partnership with the Origination, Interconnection and M&A team.
- Execute a portfolio of projects ranging from 100Mw up to 300Mw from their inception (greenfielding) to the commencement of construction. Offer support during the construction phase to ensure successful completion.
- Serve as the project lead, overseeing extensive cross-functional project teams. Additionally, supervise less experienced Development Managers and Associates who lead individual projects.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of the key factors influencing a project's financial viability and identify optimal project locations in collaboration with the commercial and technical teams.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, collaborating with a proficient team of internal subject matter experts and external consultants. This includes conducting site due diligence, securing land control agreements, managing environmental and permitting processes, facilitating interconnection, overseeing engineering and pre-construction phases, assessing energy yield, navigating tax abatements, overseeing power marketing efforts, and managing tax equity financing.
- Prepare management presentations and facilitate internal approval procedures.
- Manage project budgets, goals, timelines, and deliverables for assigned development projects.
- Actively contribute to the regional strategy and internal improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business is preferred. Possessing an advanced MSc degree is advantageous.
- 6+ years of relevant work experience in renewable energy infrastructure, including a track record of developing energy infrastructure projects in the United States.
- Demonstrate exceptional project management skills.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving capabilities, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
- Be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must Be authorised to work in teh USA without the need for sponsorship.
