We are seeking a friendly and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our team and be the welcoming face of our daycare center.
Overview: The Front Desk Receptionist will manage the reception area, provide excellent customer service to parents, children, and visitors, and perform various administrative tasks. This role requires strong communication skills, a warm and welcoming demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment. Candidates MUST BE bilingual in Chinese and English.
Duties:
- Greet parents, children, and visitors with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members.
- Manage the sign-in/sign-out process for children, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Provide information about the daycare center’s programs, policies, and procedures to parents and prospective clients.
- Handle parent concerns and questions, directing them to the appropriate staff member if necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Assist with scheduling tours and appointments for prospective parents.
- Receive and distribute mail and packages.
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining records.
- Coordinate with teachers and staff to relay important messages and ensure smooth communication.
- Assist in emergency procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
Skills:
- Bilingual: Chinese and English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, patient, and compassionate demeanor.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in office administration or customer service is a plus.
- Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work full time (8:00am-5:00pm OR 9:00am-6:00pm)
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
