Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, performing laboratory tests, administering medications, and providing support to both the veterinary staff and pet owners. Duties: - Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures - Prepare animals for surgery, including administering anesthesia and monitoring vital signs - Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and microbiology - Take and develop X-rays - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians - Provide post-operative care and monitor the recovery of patients - Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions or concerns - Maintain accurate medical records for all patients - Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, and exercise - Handle animals with care and ensure their safety and comfort - Utilize veterinary terminology effectively Requirements: - Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role is preferred - Knowledge of veterinary critical care procedures and protocols - Proficient in animal handling techniques - Familiarity with X-ray equipment operation and maintenance - Strong knowledge of animal husbandry practices - Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners effectively - Familiarity with veterinary terminology and medical procedures - Experience working with equine or large animals is a plus - Knowledge of dog training techniques is beneficial - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail We offer competitive pay based on experience.
