Summary:
We are seeking to add an open-minded and adaptable Independent Licensed Therapist (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) to our team. In this role, you will provide mental health services to adults, children and adolescents requiring treatment and support. Our workplace fosters a supportive atmosphere, offering credentialing support, billing assistance, comfortable office spaces, and the flexibility to deliver mental health services through either telehealth or in-person sessions. This flexibility empowers you to concentrate solely on providing exceptional client care.
This role is remote, with a hybrid option to work from the office in Detroit, MI. We cover all the details, from insurance verification and billing to overseeing marketing initiatives, scheduling initial appointments, and offering ongoing support. Your focus can remain on the critical work of providing excellent care to those who need it.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychology, mental health, case management, and couple’s therapy sessions
- Collect information about patients through interview, case history review, and/or observational techniques; evaluate data to identify focus of treatment interventions and determine proper therapeutic approach or referral to other specialists
- Provide crisis management, and/or short-term solution-focused therapy to patients as appropriate; provide therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required
- Demonstrate knowledge of DSM-5 criteria and appropriate interventions
- Follow established policies, procedures, professional standards, all federal, state and local guidelines, continuous quality improvement and safety, environmental, and infection control standards
- Conduct psychology, mental health, case management, and couple’s therapy sessions
- Monitor clients' behavior about treatment plan goals and needs.
- Conduct client needs assessments, actively develop the consumer's Individual Treatment Plan, and make appropriate documentation in the record.
- Provide counseling and support to clients individually.
- Participates in various staff meetings and in-services and communicates with team members on observed behaviors and progress of clients.
- Updates treatment plan goals and objectives for new authorizations/re-authorizations and inputs in the ICAN system.
- Complete reassessments due to existing clients on caseload.
- Will adhere to A PATH TO PEACE’s Standards of Professional Conduct
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
- Must hold a valid LPC or LLPC.
- 1-3+ years of experience.
- An active Michigan license in good standing is required.
- Experience with Social Work, Psychology, and Mental Health.
- Experience in Case Management and Couples Therapy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of mental health disorders and treatment methods, preferably in a behavioral healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Criminal background checks and child abuse clearances are required
