The Opportunity
As a Collateral Underwriter, you will review, analyze, and underwrite collateral for loan origination. You will make lending recommendations based on sound underwriting for the Underwriting team regarding approvals, denials, modifications, and/or expectations on active loan files in compliance with Company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
You will contribute to the underwriting team by:

Researching and analyzing market data to calculate annual property income for short-term rental properties

Reviewing recent property acquisitions to determine the borrower's equity in residential and commercial assets for refinances
-
Researching and analyzing collateral comparable, condition, and sales and listing histories
-
Reviewing, analyzing, rendering, and communicating decisions regarding the acceptance of appraisals and other valuation products performed by third-party vendors

Ensuring valuations are reasonably supported and credible
-
Providing advice and guidance regarding collateral valuation
-
Reviewing various third-party reports, standard credit reports, and collateral file documentation
-
Completing all underwriting functions in accordance with various program requirements, company standards, and related legal and regulatory requirements

Collecting and organizing market and property information
-
Conducting market research and performing real estate valuation analysis

Ensuring files are in compliance with regulatory agencies and internal processes
-
Ensuring loans are in compliance with guidelines and standard operating procedures
-
Ensuring lending conditions have been satisfactorily met prior to closing
-
Ensuring marketability of closed loans
-
Collaborating with departments across the organization to foster a streamlined process and drive quality improvement

Providing suggestions for improvements in underwriting policies and procedures

Assisting the Underwriters and Jr. Underwriters as necessary

Complying with all applicable lending laws and regulations

Completing other responsibilities and duties as assigned based on business needs

Salary Range: $28.00 - $29.50/hr (Non-Exempt/Hourly/Overtime Eligible)
What We Are Looking For:

Someone with 2+ years of experience working in a mortgage or title environment
-
Someone with a High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent
-
Someone who is a motivated self-starter, organized, disciplined, and service-oriented attitude

Someone with knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, and Excel

Someone with attention to detail & accuracy

Someone with the ability to handle a pipeline and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Someone who is proactive and can work independently

Someone with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Internal Applicants: 6 months of Visio Lending work experience which includes no disciplinary actions within the last 3 months. Current manager notification is needed in order to apply for a vacant position.
