We are a 100-room hotel, built in the 1970s, near Garfield, Colorado. We are located just outside of the city of Salida on Monarch Mountain within the San Isabel National Forest. We are within 5 miles of both a ski resort and the Continental Divide, bringing skiers, hikers, and family vacationers throughout the year. We offer on-site living quarters for full-time employees; housing details are below under COMPENSATION.
We are looking for a FRONT DESK AGENT who will be responsible for amazing customer service. This position includes office administrative and hotel front desk duties. To be successful in this role, you should be organized, detail oriented and self-motivated and capable of working independently.

: Our on-site living quarters are private (you do not share or “bunk” with other employees, your bathroom is also private). The employee room is furnished and includes mini fridge, microwave, and TV, along with free electricity, gas, water, trash pick-up, and cable.
Children under the age of 16 will need constant supervision and may not be left unattended at any time.
Any persons over the age of 17 and not employed by the hotel will be required to pay rent.
HOURS
This position typically works a 40-hour work week (8 hours per day, 5 consecutive days per week with 2 days off).
· This position has a mix of morning and evening shifts (#1 shift: 7a-3p and #2 shift: 3p-11p)
· Includes Weekends and Holidays
- On call for Events and Special Needs
- 3-4 times per year (usually centered around holidays) the entire staff works a 48-hour work week.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven Experience as Hotel Front Desk - 1 year (required)
- Valid Driver's License - (required).
- Reliable Vehicle – (required) due to the remote, mountain location of hotel, employees must have reliable, all-wheel-drive vehicle with up-to-date liability insurance.
- Background Check – (required) due to on-site living, a background check will be performed early in the interview process. A background check does not suggest a job offer; it is for housing application purposes only.
- Employment Verification – (required) Must submit previous employer's contact information for employment verification.
- Microsoft Suite experience - 1 year (required).
- POS experience – (preferred)
- Physical Requirements - The following physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull items weighing up to 60 pounds, ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for an 8- to 10-hour shift. Ability to hear phone and guest and co-worker conversation with possible loud background noises.

- Demonstrate the knowledge that the Front Desk Department is not just about excellent customer service and quick efficient check-ins but is a part of a business structure with budgets, reports, meetings, as well as cleanliness and organization.
- Demonstrate an excellent understanding of daily hotel operation, policies, procedures, and internal rules.
- Demonstrate familiarity with company daily room rates, packages, discounts, and promotions.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as work well with your team.
- Understanding the ebb and flow of the from desk and the execution of time blocking and utilizing time efficiently so you may complete all shift tasks.
- Familiar with our company software packages, applications and our interoffice procedures. Further, must be self-motivated to independently schedule and complete training for company software packages and applications by using company and outside resources for: Our Property Management System (OpenHotel), Point of Sale (Square), Email (Outlook), Word, Phone System (PBX), Project Management System , Schedule Mail Pick Up (USPS, UPS, FedEx), and others.
- Must have excellent knowledge of local attractions, travel directions and daily knowledge of local weather and road hazards.
- Must maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Lobby, Lobby Restrooms, Coffee/Water Station, and Workstation including taking out trash and cleaning lobby windows, doors, and entryways.
- Oversee Snack Shop duties during shift, balancing cash drawer and recording petty cash receipts. Stocking shelves and vending machines. Investigate and solve discrepancies in balances.
- Be able to work in other departments when needed for example, fold towels, inspect rooms, etc.
Monarch Mountain Lodge: ambassador, front desk attendant, clerk, customer service, representative, accommodations, front office, guest relations, guest services, receptionist, hotel, operations, reservation agent.
