Cataloochee Ranch is a Relais & Châteaux resort that mixes classic ranch fun with exceptional accommodations and cuisine. Founded almost a hundred years ago by the Alexander family, Cataloochee Ranch has been a favorite mountain getaway for generations of high-country adventurers. Spread across hundreds of acres along the southeastern border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the property’s breathtaking elevation, open balds, and long-range views are complemented by classic comforts, perfectly rustic cuisine, humble hospitality, and hands-on, expert-led activities.
Our Fine Dining Servers are fun, knowledgeable, welcoming, and enthusiastic! We will be welcoming guests to our restaurant Switchback, assisting with guest requests and anticipating needs to create an environment of personalized service in the dining room.
Responsibilities include:
1. Work in a way that aligns with our Mission Statement: “Improving lives through genuine care, connection to nature, opportunities for adventure, and authentic service."

3. Welcome guests to Switchback dining room and tell the story of Cataloochee Ranch.
4. Create and provide memorable guest experiences.
5. Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order.
6. Create and maintain professional relationships with guests and coworkers.
7. Present restaurant menus and help customers select food and beverages.
8. Knowledgeable of all menu items to be able to describe them in detail to guests, including being able to answer questions regarding allergens and dietary restrictions.
9. Take and serve orders in timely manner- able to learn to use or previous experience with POS systems to ring in orders, provide bill to guests.
10. Have proper table maintenance and cleanliness throughout service.
11. Ability to explain amenities and activities that are available to guests.
12. Work with other departments to ensure guest requests are met and expectations are exceeded.
13. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment while maintaining friendliness and professionalism.
14. Exhibits attention to detail in all aspects of job duties.
15. Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff.
16. Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude.
Minimum Requirements:
A strong desire to provide memorable, authentic service. Previous restaurant experience, excellent people skills with friendly attitude. Willingness to learn and grow knowledge of wine, spirits and beer.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work varied shifts based on guest & business needs.
- Sitting, walking, standing and bending.
- Lifting/Carrying up to 25 lbs.
