PURPOSE
This position is responsible for ensuring safe practices, to perform routine and extensive range of activities in repair and general maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment under general supervision. This position will execute work within established procedures and process under both verbal and written instructions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure the safety of all employees and ensure safe practices for all situations.
- Performing repair or general maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glazier, and painting tasks.
- Performing minor repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustment of locks on cabinets, locks, closets, desks.
- Repairing door hinges, cleaning plugged key slots, changing filters on ventilating, heating and air conditioning units.
- Moving and assisting in transportation of furniture and equipment.
- Activating and deactivating building alarms and responding to alarm calls after and during regular work hours.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
- Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate.
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
- Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
- Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Align and balance new equipment after installation.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments.
- Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, or tools.
- Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties.
SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS
- Inspect all tools, equipment, and PPE for safe use and operation.
- Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools.
- Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift and boom lift.
- Should follow oral and/or written instructions.
- Communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and oral form.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
- May be required to be on call, work weekends, and after hours.
WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)
- This position is hourly non-exempt, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week.
- Limited travel may be required by car or company vehicle.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Physical Work – Ability exert 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
