Position Purpose/Summary
The Purchasing Specialist is committed to providing the highest quality of service to the communities, customers, and employees we serve by providing Treasury, Purchasing, Insurance, and administrative support.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Support Operations in the managing of PO’s (create and manage all PO’s).
- Create and manage Purchase Order reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments and team members.
- Support head of department with Treasury, Purchasing, Insurance, Margin Assurance, and other administrative needs as assigned.
- Ensure purchase orders comply with company policies, budget constraints, and regulatory requirements specific to the telecommunications industry.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase order records within our system.
- Assist with administrative work as assigned.
- Create and manage purchase orders for a variety of materials, equipment, and services critical to our telecommunications infrastructure (e.g., network equipment, outside plant materials, maintenance supplies).
- Ensure purchase orders comply with company policies, budget constraints, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase order records within our system.
- Research and identify qualified vendors for required goods and services related to telecommunications needs.
- Maintain positive relationships with key vendors.
- Analyze usage trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction through consolidation or vendor selection.
- Create and manage Purchase Order reporting, providing insights into purchasing activities and potential cost savings.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings within the telecommunications budget.
- Collaborate with other departments and team members (e.g., engineering, operations) to ensure purchasing activities align with operational needs.
- Support the head of department with Treasury, Purchasing, Insurance, Margin Assurance, and other administrative needs as assigned.
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in telecommunications procurement.
- Assist with other purchasing-related tasks as assigned, potentially including expediting orders and resolving vendor issues.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
At a minimum, the Purchasing Specialist must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 2+ years of customer service, administrative, or general accounting experience. Ideal candidate will have a college degree.
