Job Summary
We are seeking a Breakfast Attendant to join our dynamic team in a busy restaurant setting. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests have an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Duties
- Ensure that all food and beverages are prepared according to our culinary standards and meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Handle food efficiently and effectively, including but not limited to, meat cutting, knife handling, and bussing tables.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, answering questions, and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure that all orders are fulfilled promptly and accurately.
- Maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm, ensuring that our guests feel welcome and valued throughout their meal.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down the dining area, including but not limited to, table settings, linens, and napkins.
- Keep the restaurant clean and tidy by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and taking out the trash.
1. Ensure the breakfast area is clean and well-stocked throughout breakfast service. Guests rely on a consistently good-tasting breakfast as a part of their stay.
2. Understand the number of in-house guests so you can plan the amount of food you’ll need to prepare. Have a pre-shift with your GM, discuss and plan for the peak breakfast times.
3. Be the best breakfast host you can be – 15 minutes before breakfast service starts, do a final walkthrough of the area ensuring all items are stocked and ready for service
4. Be friendly and welcoming.
5. Wait by the buffet area at the start of service. Welcome each guest with a smile and a warm “Good Morning”. You can never go wrong with a smile and a “How can I help you?”.
6. If you know a guests’ name, use it!
7. Point out the hot coffee and signature breakfast items.
8. Be as attentive and helpful as you possibly can.
9. Interact with guests during breakfast.
10. Seek out guest contact by looking for opportunities to help guests.
11. If you notice a guest looking confused or scanning the breakfast area, offer to show them where items are and answer their question
12. When there is a problem, set out to resolve it completely to the guest’s satisfaction.
Requirements
- Experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, preferably in a breakfast or brunch environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and dietary restrictions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in knife handling and meat cutting.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Familiarity with coffee preparation and presentation.
- Experience with banquet and catering services is an asset.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
