KBK to the Trade is an interior design showroom with over 40 years working with high end luxury goods. We are seeking a Purchasing/Procurement Coordinator for our Sales Support team. Candidate will have a background in the residential or commercial design or home furnishings industry.

- Clerical, Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills – All are key to this role because the coordinator will prepare quotes, place purchase orders, review acknowledgments for errors, track progress and process payments.
· Mathematics – must possess excellent math skills to ensure that cost calculations and quotes are accurate. Will maintain records in collaboration with the accounting department. General accounting knowledge is beneficial. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Relationship management – This position is the bridge between the designer/salesperson and the vendor/KBK.
· Communication skills – possesses effective verbal and written communication skills. Must feel comfortable speaking on the phone and writing emails to designers, vendors, and internal personnel. This is a priority as workloads and priorities vary from day to day. Remains positive and friendly demeanor in a stressful and fast paced environment.
- Interior Design skills –Knowledge of the industry to be able to interface with designers to quickly assist them in sourcing their needs. Knowledge includes vendors, product application and vocabulary.
· Computer Skills: QuickBooks, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Image Clipping, PowerPoint
o Bonus Skills: Auto CAD, Revit, Sketch Up and Instagram savvy.
Specific daily duties:
This position requires multitasking and quick response time. Must understand the priorities of the moment as guided by KBK mission and the sales team.
- Preparing quotes for approval by client, placing orders with vendors through QuickBooks. Communicating these purchases to KBK Accounting teams.
- Collecting payments and forwarding documents to assigned parties, processing client payments through credit card portal.
- Checking order acknowledgements, tracking orders in Excel spreadsheet.
- Troubleshooting product or pricing problems and questions from KBK accounting, vendors and/or clients. Placing replacement orders when needed.
- Updates to clients with progress of their orders with anticipated ship dates, delays, and final payments due.
- Understanding of tiered pricing, how to calculate margin and profit.
- Following up with designers on product requests and research assignments.
- Requesting Memos and Cuttings for Approval (CFA).
Shared duties across staff include:
- Locating appropriate sales staff to assist clients.
- Assisting teammates and colleagues when one is overloaded.
- Recording checkouts and returns of samples and replenishing checkout sheets.
- Answering the phones
- Other duties as assigned by managers.
- Assisting in opening and closing showroom
- Attending all on site trainings for new product
- Assisting on event days
- Helping to clean up work areas.
- Maintains professional appearance.
· Always keeps the company’s best interests in mind and follows through on commitments.
- Able to lift 25lbs or more.
Related Education or Degrees:
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Administration, Finance or related discipline.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with related work experience.
