POSITION SUMMARY
Company Driver Managers focus on representing the best interests of both the Driver and the Company
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION

Manage, lead, and motivate drivers to accomplish team objectives

Communicate proactively and quickly to Planners, CSRs, and Drivers
-
Monitor and measure driver safety performance and foster a safety centered culture.

Build relationships with Drivers to understand their expectations and preferences.

Manage revenue and mileage goals for each driver and the fleet as a whole. Counsel drivers who are not meeting metric goals/expectations. Influence routes assigned to drivers for optimal success.

Oversee MPG performance for each driver and fleet as a whole. Coach all drivers who perform below MPG goals/expectations

Update ETA’s accurately and timely

Update Total Mail accurately and timely.

Manage phone calls, messages, and emails.

Provide updates to CSR's and Planners when a Driver is going to be late or if the Driver has been sitting too long (detention) at a location.

Manage and monitor driver pay ensure payroll is accurate and complete.

Ensure the Driver operates safely.

Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance
OTHER SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE

Establish clear expectations for Drivers when they first begin at Venture Transport

Update Expirations and Driver Statuses accurately and timely

Utilize Trip Alert to quickly evaluate “red flag” situations
Requirements:
PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
-
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Business, or any combination and experience, which would provide equivalent background

Knowledge of TMW Office Suite
REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)

Knowledgeable of the Transportation, Operations, and/or Logistics industries
-
Ability to resolve conflict and problems diplomatically
-
Ability to handle criticism positively without emotion
