Job Summary: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for interacting with patients, facilitating patient flow and following out provider orders. Knowledge with eClinical Works EMR a plus. This position will be required to travel between our Mesa and Scottsdale offices.
Job Duties:
1. Works one-on-one with the provider and follows out orders for pre-office/surgery or post-office/surgery patient appointments.
2. Provides patient care, including rooming, vitals, reviewing histories, assisting during exams and procedures, prepping patients chart for appointments and filling out FMLA paperwork.
4. Fields phone calls concerning medical questions or pharmacy calls, page physician when necessary.
5. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with providers and staff.
6. Maintains a high level of customer service with patients to make them feel comfortable and at ease.
7. Performs a variety of related duties such as cleaning exam rooms, restocking medical supplies, notifying supervisor of equipment problems or restocking of medical supplies.
8. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
9. Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information in order to comply with HIPAA and Practice requirements.
10. Performs all other duties or assume responsibilities as directed by the supervisor, providers or other staff to maintain the office flow and support the goals of the Practice.
Skills and Qualifications: High school graduate or GED. Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Minimum of 1year MA experience. Knowledge of medical terminology, recognition of physical exam process and anatomy. Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications, legible handwriting and ability to accurately record information. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly.
