Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys’ work is supported by 6,300 volunteers who deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to nearly 17,200 girls in southern Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and one county in Iowa. Job Summary
The Cook assists the overall food-service operation of the camp including purchasing, preparation, nutrition, service, sanitation, security, personnel management, customer service, and record keeping.
Assist the daily operations of the camp food and dining service including coordinating activities between the kitchen, program staff and dining room.
Assist in the inventory and ordering of food, equipment, and supplies and arrange for the routine maintenance, sanitation, and upkeep of the camp kitchen, its equipment, and facilities.
Equipment Used
Commercial kitchen equipment including, but not limited to; convention ovens, convection ovens, mixers, dishwasher, sanitizer, griddle, stovetop, refrigerator, freezer, dry goods storage, various utensils, food warmer, and microwave.

Education and/or Experience
Experience in institutional or large food service setting.
Knowledge of and experience in food service: ordering, inventory, budgeting, food preparation, family-style serving, buffet serving, cleaning, and institutional kitchen equipment.
Must submit health history record and examination form prior to first day of work
Ability to effectively interact with all people of all ages.
Passionate about delivering an inclusive Girl Scout experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Serve Safe certification and documented food service experience necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of current food health and safety laws and practices is essential.
Knowledge of, and experience in the preparation of special dietary foods.
Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner.
Ability to conduct all activities with a high degree of cultural competency.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as required by position responsibilities.

Ability to sit upright for extended periods of time.
Sufficient visual acuity to make appropriate judgments with regard to Girl Scout materials.
Physical ability to frequently stop, kneel, bend, crouch, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull, lift, and move objects up to 50 pounds at shoulder height, and occasionally lift in excess of 25 pounds.
Demonstrated normal depth perception.
See and read printed materials, with or without visual aids; distinguish colors; read and understand rules and policies, labels and instructions.
Verbal communication including the ability to speak and hear at normal room levels.
