Society Insurance is seeking an experienced Claims Data Analyst to join our Claims Team. This Claims Data Analyst will manage data retrieval, analysis, and communication within the organization. Function as the initial point of contact for the team regarding data needs, providing reports, and data visualization through strong written and verbal communication. In addition to providing excellent customer service, serve as the super user for dashboards and user reporting tools. Partners with data governance in creation of reports as needed.
About the Role

Reads and interprets data, understands multiple sources, and knows where to source data points across Society and the various platforms.

Creates reports, dashboards, and other visuals to help illustrate the data being shared with the stakeholders within the claims department. Can visualize data trending and other content presentation styles so that the end user can easily identify and interpret what is being shared.

Listens to needs of department and translates into the data assets that are necessary. Guides end users on what they are asking for to ensure the end product is meeting the given need.

Views data trends and reports from different perspectives to identify new or different trends. Seeks to find out how data can guide performance, correct issues, detect early warning signs on new trends, and complement decisions.

Produces clean, professional, and quality work.

Maintains working knowledge of state legal requirements as well as current business and industry trends/practices pertaining to claims and customer service.

Establishes and maintains Claims Data Analyst best practices.

What it Will Take
-
Associate degree in math, statistics, information technology, or business-related field.

A basic understanding of BI reporting tools to support the analysis and creation of reports, dashboards, and analytics using Microsoft reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Power BI Paginated Reports).

Basic knowledge of Excel including working with pivot tables, formula generation, etc.

Knowledge of Information Systems, Databases, Business Intelligence concepts, and a basic understanding of relational database and data warehouse structures.

A demonstrated strong desire to learn new technical tools, techniques, and processes to support the data analytical needs of the organization.

A passion for delivering high-quality solutions/software and a drive to constantly improve and evolve processes.

A solid command of written and verbal communication, and the ability to interpret the needs of the end-user against the capabilities of available technology.

Basic ability to collect the necessary information to meet customer requests which may involve researching, interviewing, and an anticipation of how to apply a solution to a current or new business process.
