Purpose:
The key role of the Sales Engineer Role – Work directly with the President of Operations in the commercialization of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (structural fiberglass) Utility Poles as a replacement or alternative to traditional construction materials. The role will be required to identify new customers, qualify and develop the opportunities, and technically evaluate clients needs. Upon successful implementation, this role will develop into a leadership position within the business and will be expected to build, develop and manage a team of like minded individuals to deliver year on year growth across the US, Canada and Mexico. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review specifications from utilities and evaluate compliance and capacity requirements.
- Understand market needs advise team on industry trends, expectations and challenges.
- Work closely with Wagners representatives to provide insight and testing based on customer needs.
- Complete initial market research on penetrating new sectors to help guide management in making R&D investment decisions. This market research would include identifying the following: existing products/competitors, market price point, design or aesthetic requirements, potential short- & long- term revenue, best avenue into new sectors.
- Work with Leadership within CFT to develop growth strategies and plans for business expansion.
- Identify appropriate client base and generate initial discussions and interest in sales.
- Writing of business proposals and supporting information for quotes/tenders
- Generate initial sales in new sectors and work closely with the project delivery team to ensure the delivery of projects is to the client's expectations.
- During the project handover stage, once the project has been fully executed, train sales team to effectively find and deliver new opportunities through their existing client base as well as working with them on new customers based on product market requirements.
- General sales and marketing activities including but not limited to, cold calling, new business development, prospecting and following up leads.
- Travel within Texas and US Southeast will be required.

· Educational background in engineering based field
· Experience in Electrical Utility sales.
· Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
· Possess flexibility, adaptability and versatility of approach to handle changing work requirements.
· Innovative mindset
· Focus on engaging with customers to understand challenges.
· Experience in project delivery and/or manufacturing would be advantageous.
· Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
· Intermediate computer skills using MS Office suite.
