TITLE: Exhibit Lighting Project Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Lighting is an essential feature in all of Phipps shows and exhibits. The primary area of responsibility will revolve around the Phipps Winter Light Garden, which is part of our annual Winter Flower Show and Light Garden and has become a major feature of our exhibit schedule. The Light Garden takes place throughout the fenced Outdoor Garden, children’s Discovery Garden, as well as the Tropical Forest patio, with possible expansion in the future. Lights are also featured in the Welcome Center and with the traditional winter flower show exhibits that take place throughout the Conservatory.
There are four other seasonal flower show/exhibits that occur during the rest of the year. Elevating the quality of these shows with lighting is the second area of primary focus for this position. This position works closely with the Facilities and Exhibits teams to coordinate and oversee this important exhibit, including feasibility, inventory, ordering, installation, trouble shooting, and storage. This person will be responsible for lighting displays, fabrication of lighting displays, as well as coordinating with external designers and lighting suppliers to implement additions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strive to create a Magical Guest Experience.
2. Lead the lighting design of new features in working with Exhibits and Facilities staff to design new features from a practical standpoint.
3. Oversee and lead the install of the lighting display, work with electrical contractor and other vendor/contractors.
4. Responsible for sourcing and ordering materials, receiving, organizing, and storing of new materials.
5. Coordinate the projects/features that need rewiring each year.
6. Provide practical knowledge and creativity to expand in-house lighting designs.
7. Collaborate with the Exhibits department to organize products/materials going in and coming out of show.
8. Assist with installation of other shows and exhibits as needed.

1. Strong electrical knowledge and practical experience.
2. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks.
3. Ability to see the big picture and to work as part of a team.

5. Ability to work alone as well as in a team environment.
6. Artistic ability and interest a plus.

1. Physical mobility: sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, lifting/carrying objects up to 80 pounds, climbing up to 15 feet, manual dexterity to operate keyboard.

WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Ability to provide own transportation to perform principle responsibilities.
2. May require evening and weekend work.

1. Ability to operate bobcat, forklift, and other equipment as needed.
