As a Tax Manager you will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around your technical expertise and ability to work on a collaborative team to deliver excellent client service:
- Engage with existing and new clients providing tax planning, advice, and oversight of a full spectrum of tax services including nearly all tax forms for all entity types.
- Manage and oversee the tax production team focused on entity, individual, fiduciary, and gift / estate taxation. This includes the planning and execution of client tax engagements
- Provide leadership, training and career mentorship to staff and supervisor level team members
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field, CPA, J.D., LL.M. in taxation and/or Masters in Taxation
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in public accounting with emphasis on tax. Most recent years should include experience reviewing and finalizing tax returns for nearly every entity type.
- Expertise in at least one area: entity, individual and fiduciary taxation; with an understanding of complex investments and the related tax implications
- Familiar with multi-state taxation
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to work in a collaborative team and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Broad experience reviewing personal and business taxes.
- Experience managing and training tax preparation staff
- Experience with gift and estate taxation
- Experience as a tax production manager for a mid-size accounting firm managing high volume tax production.
