RADIOLOGY SUPERVISOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Shift: 3:30pm - 12am (Monday - Friday)
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee radiology and diagnostic imaging procedures and troubleshooting any related issues.
- Monitor staff who controls such equipment, including but not limited to x-ray machines, computerized tomography scanners, magnetic resonance imaging machines, ultrasonography and nuclear medicine.
- Solve daily issues regarding equipment problems, staffing assignments, and clinician complaints.
- Counsel employees on unsatisfactory performance and/or work behavior.
- Approve time off and work schedules to assure proper staff coverage.
- Review daily patient schedules for areas.
- Ensure that staff are reassigned as necessary to provide proper coverage for anticipated workload.
- Ensure that technologist staff updates patient waits and delays on an ongoing basis and keeps patients informed.
- Maintain inventory control of equipment and supplies; authorize purchase orders.
- Comply with all clinical procedures and regulations and ensuring that team members do the same.
- Adhere to all appropriate radiology standards of operation and patient care standards, including meeting efficiency and productivity standards, identifying issues in the system and working to improve these.
- Provide supportive care to patients by mediating and resolving any issues that arise between care providers, radiology technologists, medical staff and patients.
- Improve and oversee the quality assurance program for the radiology department.
- Provide technical assistance and monitoring in regard to medical imaging, including offering guidance as to technique and advice as to general machine operations.
- Collect data throughout the fiscal year and be prepared to offer reports.
- Mentor, assign and schedule radiology students to clinical rounds and trainings.
- Protect the clinical boundaries by assuring compliance with all pertinent local, state and federal guidelines that monitor safety and health care standards.
- Continue education by keeping certifications and licensure current, upholding professional contacts and holding membership in appropriate professional organizations.
- Work to uphold the reputation of the clinical environment by maintaining a professional demeanor at all times and strengthening ties with other leaders in the field.
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of approved School of Radiology required.
- Must have New York State X-Ray Technologist License.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant clinical supervisory experience preferred.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
