Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams to assess patients' visual acuity and overall eye health
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases
- Prescribe corrective lenses or other appropriate treatments
- Provide recommendations for preventive eye care and lifestyle adjustments
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Experience:
- Sales experience in the optical industry is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and aseptic technique
- Experience working with electronic health record systems (Epic)
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately diagnose and prescribe treatment plans
- Proficiency in conducting various diagnostic tests, such as visual acuity tests, tonometry, and retinoscopy
- Ability to interpret test results and make appropriate recommendations for further treatment or referrals
