Salem Community Child Care is seeking a full- time Pre-school Lead Teacher and a full time Toddler Lead Teacher to join our teaching team. Salem Community Child Care has been providing high quality early care and education since 1981. Applicants must possess a high level of experience along with creative- strong lesson plans. Our school requires positive, high energy teachers to work along side our dedicated team. We offer low student to teacher ratios and excellent benefits.

Must be willing and available to work full-time, 40 hours.
- Must have a true passion for nurturing children of all backgrounds and have unending patience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years Lead teacher experience with proven leadership skills, must be dedicated to the improvement of the teaching profession and able to provide constructive criticism and helpful solutions to other teachers without alienating or discouraging them. You should possess good observational and analytical skills and be able to offer fresh, creative solutions in difficult situations.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create and implement developmentally-appropriate and culturally-responsive curriculum that engages children
- Work with co-teacher in developing and implementing lesson plans and daily activities
- Welcome families into the classroom and promote family engagement
- Maintain a safe and positive program, which includes:
- Exhibiting a warm, engaged attitude toward the children in the classroom and their parents
- Encourage problem-solving and self-help skills in children
- Use redirection, logical consequences, and natural consequences to guide children
- Offer reminders and choices to children to foster their positive self-esteem development
- Respond immediately to the individual needs of children and families
- Participate in staff meetings
- Participate in at least 25 hours of professional development trainings annually
- Maintain current first aid and CPR certification and ensure equipment/kits/materials are maintained and available
- Follow all company and state policies and procedures
- Your Responsibilities:

- Provide an emotionally and physically safe, caring classroom environment;
- Design and implement an early childhood curriculum in accordance with MA Curriculum Guidelines and NAEYC curriculum standards;
- Evaluate progress of children and document observations;
- Communicate with parents through daily sheets, newsletters, bulletin board displays, developmental reports and conferences
- This position requires some Administrative duties
Your Qualifications: Teacher or lead teacher certified as per EEC regulations;Benefits:Accrued Vacation and Sick time
- Director I or II ( MUST)
- Bachelors r Masters degree in ECE or related field or currently enrolled in a program;
- Relevant work experience;
- Certification in Infant/Child First Aid and CPR (will train if necessary);
- CORI/DCF evaluation as per EEC guidelines;
- Evidence of a physical examination within one year of employment.
