The Orus Group is hiring a Data Scientist in the Metro DC Area in Support of our Federal client
Team members in this role will support our government client's Applied Technology Lab including conducting training seminars related to Python data analysis techniques, system administration and driving/defining research projects and communicating results to the enterprise. Data Scientists will require hands on expertise and proficiency with Python and data anlysis techniques with Python in addition to a diverse set of communications, strategy, technical, business, and creative skills that combine expertise in python analytical methodologies, software development and engineering.
The Applied Technology Lab achieves its mission through partnership with business units of the organization, internal and external technical service providers, and vendors. Technology innovation and enterprise solution support is expected. The Data Scientist shall perform services that include the following activities:
Provide consultative advice in emerging areas of Data Science, Data Visualization, Statistical Tools and Analytics (Python, R), DevOps, Enterprise and Data & Application Architecture in alignment to client goals and strategies.
Assist in the design and develop prototypes and proofs-of-concept based on business area and IT needs on an as-needed basis
Facilitate technology demonstration and interaction
Maintain technical information repository
Support the transition of prototypes to production
Run all operations related to the Applied Technology Lab, to manage operations and provide technical support working directly with staff on innovation projects
Facilitate proofs-of-concept and product evaluations based on collaborative conceptual solutions developed as part of the program
Facilitate outreach and information sharing with other agencies, industry partners, academia, and foreign governments
Coordinate Lab activities, projects and vendor presentation.
Update and implement lab operating procedures and documentation
