Overview:
The skilled and dedicated Nurse Aide Course Primary Instructor involves delivering high-quality instruction, facilitating learning activities, and assessing student progress in theoretical and practical settings.
Responsibilities:
•Conduct instruction and evaluation of students with a primary focus, avoiding additional duties during teaching or supervising.
•Plan, facilitate, and participate in academic learning activities in various settings.
•Ensure students perform services after receiving proper instruction and demonstrating proficiency.
•Provide instruction aligned with the approved Virginia Nursing Board curriculum.
•Evaluate students’ practicum performance in clinical settings.
•Offer guidance to students on course progress and academic concerns.
•Perform student evaluations using continuous quality improvement techniques.
•Maintain accurate attendance and academic student records while reporting to the Program Coordinator any issues/concerns.
•Stay current with professional practice licensures, certifications, and credentials as per Virginia Board of Nursing regulations.
•Stay informed about the latest teaching methodologies and technologies.
Qualifications:
•Current RN Licensure in Virginia.
•Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with a preference for nursing aid training experience.
•Previous experience in teaching or instructing nursing courses.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•Bilingual skills are advantageous but not required.
Experience:
The successful candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Previous experience in nursing administration or higher education teaching
- Proficiency in medical terminology and patient care practices
- Strong background in acute care settings
- Familiarity with curriculum development in a university setting
- Ability to teach a diverse student population effectively
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing with RN certification (RN BSN) or related majors. Master’s degree preferred.
